Website Care
Terms
Last updated: 7 October 2026
These terms are the whole agreement, written in plain language and linked from every plan page, invoice and summary email. Nothing is in small print elsewhere.
1. Words used here
- Main page: a page with its own link in your site's main menu, like Home, About, Services or Contact. Blog posts, legal pages and thank-you pages don't count toward your page limit, but changing them still uses updates.
- Section: one horizontal block on a page, like a testimonial strip, an FAQ or a banner.
- Business day: Monday to Friday, minus up to 10 holidays a year, listed here each January and announced 2 weeks ahead.
- Billing month: starts on the date you first paid. Updates and monthly features reset on that date.
2. Updates
An update is one small change on one existing page, taking up to 20 minutes. Clear one-update requests I just do. For anything bigger, I tell you how many updates it uses and start after you say OK.
| Request | Updates |
|---|---|
| Change text, a price, a date or a phone number | 1 |
| Replace a photo, add a testimonial, add an event or episode | 1 |
| Fix typos on one page | 1 |
| Replace a block of text you send (up to about 300 words) | 1 |
| Rewrite a whole page with text you send | 2–3, confirmed first |
| New section, new page, redesign | Not updates: add-on or quote |
Unused updates don't carry over, and updates can't be combined into a bigger job.
3. Plan features, exactly
- Turnaround counts from when I have everything I need (words, photos, access). If I'm late, you get 1 free extra update next month.
- Emergency help is for a site that won't load or a broken contact form or main page. Essential and Growth: I start the next business day. Priority: within 12 hours, any day. Up to 1 hour a month is free; longer fixes, or problems caused by changes someone else made, are quoted first.
- Welcome cleanup: first month only, up to 2 hours (4 with the launch offer), once per business. Bigger jobs use the Deep cleanup add-on.
- Health check: monthly. Small fixes of up to 20 minutes each are free, within the same 1 hour a month.
- Uptime alerts tell me when your site stops loading. They don't prevent outages; your platform runs the servers.
- Backups: a monthly copy of your pages, text and images, kept for 3 months. Where your platform has restore points, I use those. Restoring counts toward the free hour; a bigger rebuild is quoted first.
- Monthly report: visitor numbers need access to your site's statistics.
- Google Business Profile care (Growth, Priority): a monthly check that your hours, contact details, services and photos match your site. Changes you ask for count as updates. Creating a new profile is an add-on.
- Free new section (Growth every 3 months, Priority every month): built in your site's style with your words and images. Use it within its period; it doesn't carry over or combine into a page.
- Calls (Priority every 3 months, launch offer monthly): 30 minutes on video at a time that suits us both. Unused calls don't carry over.
- Replies to every email within 1 business day.
4. Requests
By email to hello@sohailrana.com or the request form. Messages on other apps aren't tracked, so I'll ask you to resend them by email. One email can hold several changes.
5. Paying
- Plans are billed monthly in advance, in US dollars, by card or PayPal. Every payment gets an invoice.
- Yearly plans: pay 10 months, get 12.
- Add-ons are paid before the work starts. If a same-day rush is late, the rush fee is refunded.
- Your price is locked for 12 months (24 with the launch offer). After that, any change gets 30 days' notice.
- If a payment fails, work pauses after 7 days and the plan ends after 14. Your site keeps running.
6. Changing or cancelling
- Change plans anytime by email. The new plan starts on your next billing date.
- Cancel anytime by email. Your plan runs to the end of the paid month; there are no partial refunds.
- 14-day promise: not happy within 14 days of your first payment? Full refund of the first month, once per business.
- Yearly plans: cancel in the first 30 days for a refund minus one month at the monthly price. No refund after that.
- I may end a plan with 30 days' notice and refund any months paid ahead.
7. New website projects
- Price and scope are fixed in a written quote. Half is paid to start, half before the site goes live.
- Changes are made in rounds; a round is one list of changes sent together. The Starter Site includes 2 rounds.
- You provide the words, photos and logo. If the project waits on you for 60 days, we agree a new date, and work done so far isn't refunded.
- The site is yours once the final payment is made.
- Starter Site + Care: the $200 site discount assumes 12 months of Growth. Cancel care earlier and the $200 is added to your final bill.
8. Not included
- Platform, domain, email, paid apps, fonts and stock photos: paid by you, directly to those companies.
- Writing new copy, SEO campaigns, ads, social media or newsletters.
- Any promise of more visitors, rankings, leads or sales.
- Shop product or order management.
- Legal advice on policies. I add the text you provide.
9. Fair use
- One plan covers one website for one business, not sites you manage for others.
- If someone else edits your site and it breaks, fixing it uses updates or is quoted first.
- If my access is removed, work pauses until it's restored.
- You confirm you have the rights to the words and images you send. I won't publish anything illegal or harmful.
- If your site grows past your plan's page limit, you choose: remove pages, add pages as an add-on, or move up a plan.
10. Ownership and leaving
Your site, domain, accounts and content are always yours. When you leave, I remove my logins and send a short handover note. Sites on my hosting get a full copy and 30 days to move.
11. Changes to these terms
Any change is emailed to you 30 days before it applies. The date of the last change is shown at the top of this page.
