Trovr — travel website rebuilt as a fast static site on the client's own domain

01 / Brief

A site she couldn't call her own

Trovr's travel site had been built as a React single-page app and was locked to a host she didn't control. She wanted it on her own domain, on a stack she owned.

02 / Finding

Heavier than the content needed

I started by assessing the codebase rather than assuming a like-for-like move. The architecture was heavier than an almost entirely static content site needed, so moving it as it stood would have carried that weight to a new home.

03 / Work

Rebuilt as a fast static site

I rebuilt it as a fast static site, deployed from GitHub to Netlify on her own custom domain and DNS.

04 / Handoff

Nothing left depending on me

She got a clean repository and automatic deploys on every push, with no dependency on me. Any developer can take it over without renegotiating access.

“Great to work with. Quality work and easy to communicate with. Highly recommend.”
